We may be small, but we are very mindful of our impact on our planet. We believe in working in the most sustainable way possible. Though not perfect right now, we are always endeavouring to find better ways for the future. Here are some of the ways we act right now in order to protect what we love most, planet Earth.
Products made to order
This means you can rest assured there is no excessive waste.
Collaborating with like-minded partners
The printers and factories we use for our clothing to art prints to stickers to mugs are all environmentally conscious. When printing they use inks which contain no animal by-products and are completely vegan friendly.
Our main T-shirt manufacturer is both socially and environmentally responsible. Here are a few ways in which they work toward a greener future:
- Water Reduction
By using newer, more efficient dye machines, our tee manufacturer uses 7x less water than the average for clothing manufacturers, saving 24 million gallons a week. Any water they do use goes through a filtration system that allows it to be recycled.
- Energy Reduction
Being a green company, they take every opportunity to reduce their co2 emissions. Using solar energy to power their sewing and cutting facilities, motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights throughout each building, and electric car charging stations to encourage employees to go green.
- Virtually Zero Waste
Their manufacturing facilities and Headquarters produce almost no landfill because they recycle pretty much everything that can't be turned into a tee. They've optimized their cutting to reduce plastic use, and excess fabric is recycled into a number of things like baby bibs or stuffing for upholstery. Let nothing go to waste!
- No Sweatshops Used
Almost the entire manufacturing process (design, dyeing and cutting) takes place in America. The garments are then assembled in the U.S. or Central America. All of the production is 100% sweatshop-free and Platinum W.R.A.P. Certified.
We are also aware of clothing manufacturers that use organic cotton and are mindful of making new products out of old ones so they don't end up on landfills. This is something we hope we can add to our shop in the future.
The packaging used to ship orders varies depending on the product. Our clothes come in recycled bags that can then in turn be recycled. Whilst other items come in biodegradable materials.
Offsetting our paper usage
In order to offset our use of paper, from the postcards that accompany our orders to the cardboard packaging, we plant trees with onetreeplanted. You can believe us when we say we have planted far more than the amount of paper we use.
